MILITARY WRITER
The Military Writer Project was established in 2005 and is an unofficial, non-authoritative collection of websites aimed at assisting military members with routine writing requirements such as annual evaluations and awards. As the project evolved, it became evident that there is significant overlap in the types of writing required across the services but it was decided to keep examples divided by service to avoid confusion. The goals of this project are to give members a voice, provide a space for unofficial, standardized references that aren't published on official military sites, and to aid service members in finding information that might not be available anywhere else. Submissions are welcome from anyone but classified content cannot be accepted.
With almost 1,300 pages on-line, navywriter.com hosts the largest collection and widest variety of Navy evaluations and awards available anywhere, sorted by rating and collateral duty. It also includes examples of opening and closing eval statements and rater comments for every level of rating. In addition, some Marine Corps and Coast Guard examples are included.
With over 2,300 pages of unique content, Armywriter.com hosts a large collection of NCOERs, duty descriptions, and awards sorted by MOS and duty position. It also provides an extensive collection of the most common memorandums a Soldier is likely to encounter during their career. In addition, there are numerous examples of initial, recurring, and event-oriented counseling and examples of many other writing requirements.
AirForceWriter.com hosts a wide variety of content to satisfy daily Air Force administrative requirements, including counseling procedures and examples, sponsor letters, letters of recommendation, character statements, and quarterly and annual awards. It also generated two spin-off websites, dedicated to the writing of Enlisted Performance Reports, eprbullets.com and eprbulletsafsc.com.
